Rio de Janeiro 2
Today was the best day of my journey so far. My French flat-mates expected me for breakfast with cereals and coconut flavour soja-milk, washed down by freshly made ginger-tea made of fresh ginger. Heavenly.
After a short planing how I got to the Corcovado mountain, and the the Cristo Redetor sculpture I was already on my way to the bus station, from where I arrived to s hog train (funicular), which brought me up to the hill. If Pão de Acucar was breathtaking, I run out of words... I did not want to get down, the view was that shocking, unfortunately most visitors thought the same, and that's why a nice little crowed was built quite rapidly, and because I hate crowd, I came down with a new feeling in my heart. After I jumped to the bus, which left me just at a fortress, stated between the beaches Copacabana and Ipanema, which I have visited for the view and because Lonely Planet said so. It is partially a museum now, however it has functioning barracks with real solders in it. After it I took off my shoes and socks, put it into my hand and started to walk on barefoot in the white sand of Copacabana beach from one end to an other. During this 6 km walk I just realised a strange feeling, that I fall in love with the city, in deed. Not love at first sight, but at the second.
The night walk and dinner in the hobo-district of Lapa was the just cherry on the ice cream. And before someone says that I am not working just having fun, for those I can say, that tomorrow I will have two meetings. :-) and because it has just started to rain, and forecast says one and half day of this, I have to go museums tomorrow morning, instead of beaches...
