São Paolo 1
Riótól elbúcsúztam, ideiglenesen. Biztosan vissza fogok térni, mivel nagyon megszerettem a várost. Tegnap átrepültem Sâo Paoloba, ami Brazília kulturális, gasztronómiai és gazdasági ütöere. Tegnap, mivel elég későn értem be a szállásra, ami a helyi Magyar Ház vendégszobája, gyakorlatilag csak vacsorázni mentem be a belvárosba. A menü kiváló sushi volt, mivel több százezer japán közösség él a városban, így reméltem, hogy egy autentikus étteremben jó sushit főznek. Tekernek. :-) Utána elmentem sétálni egy nagyot.
Ma reggel a magyar főkonzulátuson indult a napom, ahol két kedves diplomata kollégával beszélgettem egy órát, utána megnéztem a konzulátus jövendőbeli irodáját, majd elmentünk ebédelni egy hihetetlen étterembe, amit a helyiek churrascaria-nak hívnak. Egy svédasztalról szed magának mindneki köretet, majd az asztalok között körbe járó pincérek egyesével kínálják fel a finomabbnál finomabb marha-falatokat, és mindezeket nyárson, a tűzről frissen levéve hozzák, ott az ember előtt szelik fel, és mindenkinek a saját tányérjára szervírozzák. A rendszer fix áras és annyit eszik mindneki, amennyit bír, ezt ők "rodízio"-nak hívják. Az egész étterem nagyon látványos volt, az ételek pedig nagyon finomak... Nagyon köszönöm, Zsolt, remek élmény volt!
Innen metróval bementem a Luz metrómegállóig, ahol megnéztem a Pinacoteca nevezetű múzeumot, a brazil festészet és szobrászat helyi válogatását. Utána elsétáltam a Martinelli épülethez, ahonnan gyönyörű kilátás nyílt a városra, itt összeismerkedtem egy svájci sráccal, aki szinten brazil körúton van. Innen elsétáltam a Paulista térhez (egy óra), majd onnan vissza indultam a szállásomra 6 óra körül. Megint rossz döntés volt. Az előző naphoz hasonlóan brutális, hömpölygő tömeg volt a tömegközlekedésen, minden irodai dolgozó ekkor végez az egész városban, így 6-8 között hihetetlen tömeg es dugó van mindenhol. Útközben megtekintettem egy zsebelést valamint laza verekedést két türelmetlen utastárs között. Sebaj, 45 perc es néhány klausztrofóbiás roham után visszatértem a szállásra, ahol találkoztam az egyik magyar tánccsoport tagjaival és pár magyar szakos ösztöndíjas hallgatóval. Érdekes volt ilyen otthontól ennyi magyarral találkozni es beszélgetni. Bedobtunk egy caipirinha-t a büfében, beszélgettünk, számot cseréltünk és már indulhattam is vissza a városba, ugyanis az Universidad Sáo Paolo egy fiatal kollégájával, Saroltával és barátnőjével mentünk el vacsorázni es beszélgetni. Nagyon jó kis este volt. Holnap szinte egész nap az egyetemen leszek, két előadást is tartok. De erről majd hol az részletesen is beszámolok!

São Paolo 1
I said goodbye to Rio, for now. Because I am sure, that I come back, I fell in love with the city very much. Yesterday I flew to São Paolo, which is Brazil's cultural, gastronomical and financial capital. As I arrived late to my accommodation, which is at the Hungarian House. That's why I went only into the city to have a good sushi dinner, which was delicious, giving the several hundred-thousand strong Japanese immigration that shouldn't be surprising. After it I went to have a nice walk in Av. Paulista, which is something like "Fifth avenue" in New York. Generally, the city has a landscape of skyscrapers...
The morning I started visiting the Consulate General, where had a chance to meet the Consul General and the Consul, an old friend from Barcelona times. They showed me the new building of the Consulate (under construction), which will be amazing, once ready. For lunch we went to a place called churrascaria, which a kind of grill bar. You serve yourself the garnition, and sit at your table, and the waiters are coming with freshly grilled juicy slices of beef on spike and serving you, as much you can eat. This system is called: rodízio. Everything was delicious. Thank You Zsolt, for showing this to me!
After a heavy lunch, the best is to have a nice walk. I visited the Museum of Pinacoteca, with fine arts, it was okey. Then I went up to the iconic Martinelli building, which was the first skyscraper of the city built in the late 1920's by an Italian immigrant, who put an extra Italian style house on the rooftop. Now the view is not the best (with other skyscrapers around), but still amazing. I visited the Monasterio de São Benito and walked until metro station Paulista. At around 5.30 decided to go back to my room to have a rest before dinner with a colleague from the University of São Paolo, Sarolta. Wrong decision. It was again a crowed in every station and metrowagon, I saw a pickpocketing and a fight between two unpatient fellow traveller. Life is beautiful, so when I arrived to the Hungarian house I met a lot of Hungarian having caipirinha, so I had to join. When we finished drinking I already had to head back to centre to meet Sarolta and a friend of hers. We had dinner in a very nice local place, and had a drink. Altogether it was an other very interesting day. Tomorrow I will hold two lectures at the University of São Paolo, but I tell more about this tonight!

Utolsó nap Rióban
Délelőtt logisztikai ügyek szervezésére ment el. Utána pedig meglátogattam a riói magyar kereskedőházat, ami egy előkelő Ipanema melletti negyedben (Leblonban) van, egy "Business centerben". Nagyon szimpatikusak az itteni kollégák, remélem, sikeresek lesznek, ami az idei év brazil gazdasági recessziójában és a folyamatosan feszült politikai helyzetben, azért szép kihívást jelent.
A megbeszélés után elmentem a Brazil Szépművészeti Múzeumba (Museu Nacional de Belas Artes), ahol nehány nagyon érdekes kép várt. Ajánlom figyelmébe mindenkinek Victor Meireles méltán híres az "Első mise Brazíliában" (Primeira missa no Brasil) c. képét, amit modern stílusban Cándido Portinari is megfestett. Ezen kívül érdekes volt két hatalmas csata jelenetet ábrázoló kép, amely a hármak szövetsége (Brazília, Argentina és Uruguay) valamint Paraguy közötti háború két döntő és véres ütközetét ábrázolja. A háború 1864-1870 között dúlt,melynek végen Paraguay felnőtt férfi lakosságának 90%-a biztosan meghalt, teljes lakosságának pedig 50-85%-a pusztult el, illetve területének több mint felèt elfoglalta Argentina és Brazília. A kontinens eddigi legvéresebb háborúja volt ez. Különösen annak fényében érdekes a két monumentális kép, hogy Brazília most már inkább próbálja "elfelejteni" a történteket és elrettentő törtenelmi eseményként tekint minden háborús cselekményre.
Este még egy utolsót sétáltam a tengerparton, és fájó szívvel elbúcsúztam Riótól. Nagyon megszerettem a várost, mindenképp vissza fogok térni.

Last day in Rio
In the morning I started the day with organising some logistical questions regarding my coming days. After I visited the Brazilian-Hungarian Trade House in a quite posh district, Leblon, near Ipanema in a local business centre. The colleagues are very sympathetic and I hope they will have a lot of success in spite that Brazil now lives an economic recession and a deep political crisis.
After the meeting I went to the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, where I found some very interesting pictures and sculptures. For example Victor Meireles impressive painting "The first mess in Brazil" (Primeira missa no Brazil) or its "modern version" painted by Cándido Portinari. Furthermore it was astonishing to me to find the huge battle-pairing from the the time of the Triple Alliance. Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay had a long lasting war against Paraguay (1864-70). During this seven year period 90% of adult males and around 50-85% of the total population of Paraguay died and the country lost the half of its territory to Argentina and Brazil. This was the bloodiest war of the whole continent in the written history. The highlight of the two monumental painting is furthermore interesting that the modern Brazil tries to "forget" the bloody part of its past.
In my last day in the city I had painful goodbye from Rio, which I fall truly in love with. I am sure that I will return!
